Summary: A global food and beverage company expects every partner in its supply chain to meet its social, economic and environmental standards. Between 2018 and 2021, MADIS developers worked as part of the nearshore team developing the company’s supplier management platform, which checks responsible sourcing compliance, records audits and certificates, and supports direct relationships with farmers.

The client

The client is a global food and beverage company with a large, international supplier base, including direct agricultural suppliers.

The challenge

The company needed to make sure that the partners involved in producing its products meet its requirements for ethics, transparency and sustainability, and to spot and correct irregularities quickly.

At the same time, logistics, procurement and production processes had to run on standardised data, with consistent communication across a very large supplier network.

Our approach

Nearshore development

MADIS developers joined the platform’s nearshore development team as a subcontractor and took part in developing the system.

Supplier compliance

Functions that check whether suppliers meet the company’s responsible sourcing policy and their contractual and legal obligations.

Records and performance

Digital records of audits, certificates and performance results to support continuous improvement.

The solution

The platform is part of the company’s integrated business and supplier management system. It supports standardised processes, transparency and continuous improvement through five core capability areas:

  • Responsible sourcing standards: checking supplier compliance with ethical, transparent and sustainable sourcing policies.
  • Compliance monitoring: tracking contractual and legal obligations so irregularities can be found and fixed quickly.
  • Business process support: unified data and communication for logistics, procurement and production.
  • Certificates and performance: digital records of audits, certificates and individual performance.
  • Farmer relationships: a dedicated module for managing direct agricultural suppliers, supporting sustainable production and economic stability for partners.

Results

  • Transparent supply chain: supplier compliance, audits and certificates are recorded and monitored digitally.
  • Faster correction: irregularities can be identified and corrected quickly.
  • Sustainability built in: the platform supports the company’s social, economic and environmental expectations for its partners.
